Living The Glow Life: Actionable steps for glowing success.

As Above So Below

Have you heard the old adage “as above, so below?”

This sage counsel pertains to many things in life, but it’s especially potent advice for maintaining thehealth and wellbeing of your skin, at any age.

You can use the best topical ingredients in the world, but if you aren't paying attention to the cellular health of your entire body, those results will only last so long, and won’t deliver the lasting, glowing results you deserve.

Eat Your Way To Your Healthy Glow

There are many reasons to eat our way to healthy, and luckily for us the consequences of these actions can show on the skin rather quickly.

Not only does eating a healthy, well balanced diet give you a recipe for dermal luminescence, it also increases your health-span, which is the years of your life that you enjoy healthy and robust wellbeing.

3 First Steps To Healthy Skin

Here are three things you can do to eat your way to better skin, and increase health factors from the inside out.

  • Take Vitamin C - This everyday powerhouse vitamin is a cornerstone to fighting inflammation in your entire body. Not only does this property scavenge the body for free radicals to neutralize, it alsogives your body exactly what it needs to restructure and repair collagen. If you’re seeing a lack of bounce back in your skin, elevate your Vitamin C intake with low glycemic fruits and veggies. This fills in the gaps and creates luminous, firmer skin in the most delicious of ways.
  • Ditch The Dairy.Yes, I know. This one can be a very difficult to break up, but if you are having issues with acne, the first goal you should work toward is going dairy free. Lactose intolerance is real, but not the only issue here. Conventionally raised cows are loaded with growth hormones, antibiotics, and stress hormones from terrible living conditions. This adds up to a consistent ingestion of endocrine altering byproducts that wreak havoc on your skin. To know if this is a factor for you, leave the dairy out for three weeks and see if your acne clears up. From there if you may try goat or sheep’s cheese and gauge your reaction. In our Tucson, AZ based aesthetics practice, we’ve helped many clients overcome stubborn acne by educating them on the dangers of conventional dairy for skin health.
  • Eat Healthy Fats. Fats are IN, and healthy fats are one of the most important conscious decisions to add into your meals. There are many vital nutrients, like Vitamin D, that are only absorbed by the body if they are in a fat carrier. Be mindful of which fats to pick because not all are created equal. Stick with natural fats like coconut oil, avocado, fish oils, nuts, and seeds to help your body with remineralization and fiber based elimination. These amazing hormone regulating compounds help to equalize the body and the skin as a whole.

Pairing conscious eating with our incredibly potent, eco-lux Core Collection will give you the skin you’ve always wanted, but never knew how to get.

When you start to understand and respect your body, you’ll be able to make empowered choices. Healthy life choices have a huge impact on your overall well being and will lead to lasting, skin positive results.

WHAT ONE CHOICE CAN YOU MAKE TODAY TO START LIVING THE GLOW LIFE?

Skin Innovation: The Importance of Quality Ingredients
Skin Innovation: The Importance of Quality Ingredients

Are you sure that you are selecting beauty products with an eye out for high-quality, effective ingredients.

You might ask, what makes an ingredient effective?

Ingredients need to be able to penetrate, alter, and improve the function of the skin to enhance collagen production, exfoliation, hydration, and protection. These types of products are considered cosmeceuticals and not typically found in the average over-the-counter product at your local pharmacy or department store. Many skincare products fall short because their amazing “active ingredients” sit on the surface of the skin and can’t be delivered to the right layer to work their magic.

Skin Concerns: ACNE
Skin Concerns: ACNE

by Christy Hall October 28, 2019

Whether it is adult onset, or smack dab in the middle of puberty, acne is NEVER welcomed. By definition, acne is an inflammatory skin condition caused by overproduction of oil (sebum) in the skin. The skin also has an abundance of bacteria called Propionibacterium acnes which exacerbates the severity of the condition.
Acne is largely hormonal in nature, and seems to creep up at the most inopportune times. Not only is it difficult to manage, it can be incredibly painful and lead to scarring. In addition, acne often induces anxiety about one’s appearance.
